Growing Up. . .

Growing up. . . This is the time of life where you have to take more responsibilities, become mature, and make huge decisions in life. Sometimes it is scary growing up, becoming independent and discovering things on your own. But as you grow up you get to do a lot of things. Some people can't wait to grow up! But I don't think I am 100% ready too. I don't want to rush into trying to grow up. I think i just want to savor the moment of each day:) .

Parents!

Now recently I went to the store with my mom to shop for groceries. Everything was nice and peaceful, a regular day at the store. We walk past this family and a girl about ten years old says, "Shut up Mom! Leave me alone!". I was shocked and the mother didn't say anything back, she actually followed what her daughter told her to do. Her daughter! That is disrespectful in so many ways. You should never talk to your parents/guardians like that. It doesn't matter what the situation is, they are our elders and they know way more than now as of now. I hope I don't have to experience that again.

Music Again.

I love music! I breathe it, I live it, I write it, I enjoy it. Whenever I am having a bad day or am just simply in the mood. . . I write. I listen to different types of music.But my favorite would be Rap. In this generation most of the rappers talk about clothes, money, cars, and swag. That get's annoying, but I mean they get paid for it right? When I rap or write I try to avoid those topics, and talk about real life situations. But I like how there is a song for any kind of mood your in. Music helps me express myself. . .

Scary Movies. . .

The most things I really dislike are Scary movies. Here are a couple of reasons why:
 1. There is always a person that is running from a killer/ monster, and the person who is running ALWAYS ends up falling! Come on! Even when they fall they don't attempt to get up! Like really?!

2.Half of the times the movies aren't even scary!

3. Or when they plead to the monster and ask for them not to be killed. Okay look, what makes you think he isn't going to kill you just because you still haven't gotten to see Italy? (that was a random example). It is a monster/killer for a reason so there isn't a point in pleading.

4.Why is it that when the victim hears a noise and the goes to find out what it was? When you hear a noise.. DO NOT GO TOWARDS IT!!! DON'T go and figure out what it was.... Get far away from it as possible! (Especially if you are somewhere by yourself)

5. Last But not least Some of the titles of the movie are like.... Really? Like the new movie "The Cabin In the Woods" Why would you got to a cabin in the woods if it is no where near a town, or city or people!?!!!! Smh

Homeless People...

This might be kind of random but I have a few thoughts on homeless people. Now, I am not talking about the ones you see in movies or TV shows. I mean actual homeless people. I have always hated the sight of seeing a man or a woman with a sign or a cup on the side of the street asking for money. It makes me feel bad inside. There have been sometimes where the person isn't really homeless they just do it to get money and go back to their home. I guess you could say it is there jobs. When you hear stories like that it makes you believe ALL people are like that, when that might not even be the case. I remember when I was in the car with my mother one day and we drove passed a guy that held a sign that read: I have a wife and a new born baby Please help!I Said to my mom,"If he can get a cardboard box and a marker to write then why is he the homeless?" She just looked at me and explained to me that it is simple to get a cardboard box and a marker from the dumpster. Ding! It finally clicked in my head and I understood. But I still have my doubts about whether those people on the side of the street are actually homeless.

My Birthday!

My Birthday is in 9 days 13 hours and 30 minutes ! I am soooo excited. Its on March 17 (St. Patricks Day). So since it's on that holiday when i was little I would  always tell people that I was Irish :)

Talent Show!

So most of you know I enjoy performing right? Well guess what?! I have two performances coming up. One of my performances is a talent show at my school. The auditions are March 13th. But the MOST important, and nerevwrecking performance is the talent show/search that is city wide. I entered this talent search compeitition, and my audition is on Saturday. The talent search is going on at the year round festival, Rivers & Spires. Rivers & Spires is pretty much a festival,with music,food, activities, & much more. But anyway, I am SO excited and nervous. Out of thousands of people only 25-30 people get picked! So that means my chances are very slim. . . So wish me luck!!

My Mom & My sister

Some of the MOST important people in my life is my mom and my sister.My mom is my inspiration.My sister is my rock. Without them I don't know how I could survive. We have shared many laughs. Many tears. Many memories. My mom(Tonya) is a very independent strong beautiful woman that I love to death. Well as for my sister (Krystal) she is talented, trustworthy, and beautiful, and because i love them  so much i wrote a poem.

The Golden Rule

I am currently researching the Holocaust, and it amazes me at how people can be so cruel! As well as the things human beings had to go through. So that brings me to this subject today.... The Golden Rule. Everyone has heard of the "Golden Rule" right? The rule is to treat people the way you want to be treated. Now some may say hows is it golden? Well it is golden because if you treat someone with disrespect, anger or by being rude, you will get it in return. It may not be by that particular person but later in life it will come back to you. But if you treat a person with respect you should get it in return. In some situations it may be hard to treat them with respect or kindness, but you have to remember Treat people the way you want to be treated.

School Uniforms. . .

Okay, I am currently writing a research paper on Injustices in middle/high schools. The injustice I picked was dress code/uniforms in school. In some schools dress codes are so strict! I remember last year they had a rule where you couldn't wear colorful socks. Come on now ! That's the fashion. What if one day I'm running late and I don't have time to find the other match? But anyway, some schools have school uniforms, while the other schools have a dress code. In my opinion a dress code is just a little way of having uniforms without having uniforms. (did that make sense?) Now sometimes the school without the uniforms are even more strict than the schools with them.
                                            Pros of having a uniform:
- Studies show academics increase, (students are more focused)
- Bad behaviors decrease
- Social Outcomes improve
-Teaches discipline
-Helps prevent gangs
- Stops peer pressure
- Improves attendance of students
-Limits fighting

                                         Cons of having a Uniform
-Hinders creativity
-Has little influence
-Individuality is taken
-Comfort is gone
-Self expression is taken away

                    In my opinion there are some perks to having a school uniform. Such as being equal and not having to worry what to wear to school the next day. Also you don't really seem to have the social classes like: The jocks or The nerds. The biggest thing about uniforms is the lack of creativity and individuality given to the students. Yeah, there is a lack of creativity and self expression because it feels like you are like everyone else. But overall I don't think they have a huge impact on how students act. I don't think they have an affect on academics either. What's the difference between a student taking a test in blue jeans and a T-shirt than, another student in khaki pants? No difference right? Some studies show that bullying behaviors stop at the school. Well maybe at THAT school, but the other students at other schools can bully them about having to wear uniforms. Just like in ALL schools there is always drama. So even with uniforms there can possibly still be drama that turns into fights.  Now I'm not saying I am against uniforms or for them, but i don't think clothes have an effect on students and their behavior.

Push or Pull?

Now, see I am positively sure that everyone has encountered a "door issue". An example might be running into one. But the issue I have with doors are the signs. . . Most doors tell you whether to push or to pull right? Well in my case I judge the door (without reading the sign) and take an action depending on my judgement. I will pull with all my might! To find my self struggling. Then I finally read the sign and it obviously says PUSH! The things humans do. . . Even though there is a sign I seem to always overlook it.

G I A N T S ! !

Giants won the superbowl! They played a great game. The score was 21 to 17. Looks like the New York Giants are going to Disney world next! But next season my Steelers need to step it up. (I guess you can say I am a Giants fan now!) Oh and good job Patriots. . . maybe next year. And another thing you know how they have "Superbowl Commercials"? I didn't see any that i really enjoyed. That is the best part, along with the actual game. What's up with that? Oh well good game. Comment your thoughts on the game. (by the way I love it when football players celebrate when the make it to the endzone!)

SUPERBOWL S U N D A Y !

Isn't this the day every Football fan waits for? Now I am not really a big sports fan, but when it comes to football I am! This is the 46th year for the superbowl. So who are you going for? New England Patriots or the New York Giants? Ehhh. . . They aren't any of my favorite teams. I am more of a Steelers Fan!!! BLACK AND YELLOW! But this year my team isn't in the superbowl :(. Oh, well I am just going for the winning team. At this point in the game I am leaning towards the Giants but who knows (i might change my view before half time!). So lets go STEELERS! Oh wait ! I mean Giants !

Have you ever wandered why the sky is blue? Or why dogs bark? I have many questions that have yet to be answered. But not every question has an answer. Oh well. Someone should invent a machine for any question to be answered. I would ask questions like:

-Who made up words?
-How do people become famous?
-Who thought a the name dog?

Is the glass half full Or half empty?

Some say the glass is half full, some say the glass is half empty. It all depends on how you look at it. Some people look on the positive side, while others look on the negative. But negativity won't get you that far. Sometimes you have to look on the bright side and move on in life. Now in some situations there may not seem like there is a bright side. Like a family member dying, but the bright side is that they would be in a better place right? Instead of thinking if the glass if half full or half empty, think outside the box and be thankful that there is something in it.

ALWAYS Try your best. . .

Hey! I'm back again. Just dropping by to say a few words. I've been taught that in life you might have troubles but you have to get up and live life. My mother always tells me no matter what happens to ALWAYS try your best. And if you know you tried your best then nothing else matters. See you can't let anyone hold you back from doing what you want to do. If you want to be in the construction business, then Hey, be the next Bob the builder! My dream is to become the first Rapper/Doctor/lawyer and I'm not letting anyone stop me. I am gradually climbing to the top. You Only have ONE life so why not live it to the fullest? Oh, and remember, the one time you let someone stop you, is the one time you didn't try your best.

Music is my life

Music is MY life. Just as words are important to me music is as well. Most people listen to music for entertainment of run but i use it as expression. I can release whatever i am feeling with music, (by the way I rap & write poetry). My rap name is "Kay Star" because my nick name is Kay Kay. Also my mother always say whatever i grow up to be I will shine like a star. All you have to do is give me a nice beat and ideas will just run through my head and words will come to me. When i rap or do anything musically all of my worries, stress, and problems go away. Music is my support system. I am currently trying to get out there and be known, but until then i guess I'll have to stick to writing and rapping in my room.

What can't you survive without?

What is one thing you wouldn't be able to live without? It's hard to just pick ONE thing right?! Some of you would say your cellphone, computer, or maybe even your dog. But for me it would have to be words. Have you ever thought of what the world would be without words? Without words i wouldn't be able to survive. Words are my everything. I use them to express myself and my emotions. Sadness. Happiness. Excitement. Fear. Loneliness. Anything you can possibly think of. I LOVE to write and mix words together. I guess that's why i enjoy rapping as well as writing poetry. I also enjoy learning new words and using them whenever i can. Without words i don't think anyone could survive, it would just be a total zoo!
